Taxis are quite cheap in the Algarve. The nearest bus & train station is 15min away by foot. Literally just walk down the hill to the Beach of Maia Praia and you see the train station. From there it takes only a sec to Lagos or other destinations.

There is a mini-bus service (A ONDA LINE 2) connects MEIA Praia, Lagos train station Lagos bus station and the town, Dona Ana and Porto do of Mós. The times are listed at bus stops. The route ends in the Forte de MEIA Praia, which is next to the small train station at the eastern end of the beach is.

In summary the MEIA Praia to Lagos buses from city (Portas de Portugal):
Weekdays 07:20, 08:20, 10:20 am, 12:20, and 20 minutes past each hour until 20:20 throughout the year.

Another bus to the bus station at 11:20 except in July and August.

Saturday 07:20, 08:20, 09:20, 13:20, 16:50, 17:50 (only to Lagos train / Marina), 18:08 and 20:20.
Sundays and public holidays: 07:20, 10:08, 12:08, 12:50, 14:50, 16:50, 18:08 and 20:20. Also at 13:50 and 15:50 17:50 as far as only Lagos train station

In July and August there are daily later buses from MEIA Praia 23:20, 21:20 and 22:20.

This route stops bus station and next in front of Lagos the main ‘ Esplananda ‘in the city centre.

Lagos, MEIA Praia about 12 minutes prior to the above specified times – check the schedule buses. Last bus in the summer at 23:08 by the Portas da Portugal station, outside of Lagos market hall and at the ‘entrance’ to the old part of the city. In the winter last bus from Lagos at 20:08.
